Hey lovelies,

For starters I am still having a long battle with acne, but it is slowly clearing up. Overall, I have Oily/Combination skin. I've had my fair share of hit and miss products over the years, but I feel that my skin right now has been at it's best since I first started breaking out.

Cleanser: I actually switch cleansers alot, since I feel that it works better since my skin would grow immune to it.
I mostly use my Olay Pore Minimizing Cleanser and Scrub

Toner: Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner

This is my first toner I've tried and I have to say that ithis step is just as important as moisturizing. I haven't noticed much difference in the size of my pores, but I feel that this has helped even out my skin complextion and has made my skin, especially my T-zone less oliy.

Moisturizer: I have always avoided moisturizer, because I felt that it would just make my skin more oily. However, it is a necesssary step. If you have oily skin, I suggest to buy a moisturizer with no SPF because moisturizers with it are very thick and make your skin oily. (I learned the hard way) If you need SPF, I recommend mixing it with a mattifying sunscreen, or use a powder with SPF in it.

I use the Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer. It contains salicylic acid and helps clear acne. I feel that this formula isn't too thick and helps mattify my skin.

I usually mix my Olay Moisturizer  that has SPF 30 with it, since it is too thick to apply on it's own.

I have never been the most flexible person. I have taken dance for 6 years, but quit 4 years ago. The furthest I have gone in terms of flexibility was to do a right leg split and a bridge. My mom has always been frustrated with me for being inflexible, as I still couldn't do much.
Recently, I have been trying to increase my flexibility again in hopes of one day finally being able to do the splits again. It has always been my dreams to do the Scorpion, aerials, and arabesque to name a few. I guess this is another thing to add onto my never ending bucket list :)

If you didn't know, this was the novel that inspired the title of my blog. This is one of my favorite books. I Read this book two years ago, and I am currently rereading it, which I never do so I guess that means something!
One of the reasons why this book is so memorable is because of how much I related myself to the main character Terra Cooper. I thoroughly enjoyed her journey of self acceptance and discovery. She was born with a red port wine stain on her face. Because if this, she is self conscious about her appearance like how many teens including myself. She has gone through Various surgeries and hides under a thick layer of makeup. She also has to deal with a verbally abusive father and a independent mother. I can't exactly relate to this, but I do have demanding parents.
She is a high school senior and plans to attend a university out of town and as far as possible from her family similarity to how her two brothers did the same.
Through an accident, she meets a Goth named Jacob whom was born with a left cleft.
Ever heard of Geocaching? It is basically like a world-wide treasure hunt game. I guess that's another thing to add onto my never ending bucket list. In the novel, Terra and her father bonds over this, as her dad is a former cartographer.
I don't want to give too much away, but a good section of this book takes place in China. I am Chinese, but I have never read a book with a setting in China. This was one of the highlights of this book and I loved reading about her experience in China and her growing relations with her mom, Jacob, and her brother.
I felt this book had a very different take on the whole "finding the real you." It moved at a comfortable pace and made me really connect and made me feel like I have been on the journey with her. I loved the authors comparison of "fake beauty" to real beauty, by using the direction North and True North. I found it the comparison ingenious and  very new and unique view on what it means to be beautiful.
Hey Beautiful!

This is my first blog post which I am writing instead of finishing my science project. I guess it tell you a little about me....a procrastinator. Well, only when it comes to science.
First off, my name is Cindy. I love to read and this blog title "Northofbeautifull" was inspired from one of my favourite books North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Hedley. I loved it so much that I went out and bought it after reading it!
I enjoy writing and from this blog I plan to lay out my life on here. From my daily experiences, fashion, books, music, and anything else that happens in my life. Blogging was apart of my never ending bucket list so I really hope this blog turns out well! Only time will tell?!
Feel free to leave comments and suggestions on topics and anything else you would like a post about!

Yours truly,
